Billie Fasulo| She/Her
AM V300 - NOV 2022
The Woods Yoga, Lincoln, Rhode Island | USA π
Billie initially sought out yoga as a fun new fitness challenge, and quickly found out there is so much more to it than that. Making shapes and finding flow turned out to be so much fun! She like to laugh often, and it translates to her honest teaching style. With her “why-not” attitude, students encounter safe, supportive challenges. Her teaching style creates a sense lightness and one of accomplishment and community. Billie brings a curious, fun element to each class she leads. She completed her RYT-200 in December 2015. She received her certifications in adaptive yoga through the Path of Service school of Shri Yoga in 2016. After a long search to find the next step to be able to “feel” her true teaching voice, she completed her RYT-300 in November 2022 with the school of Authentic Movements.

Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience
Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
Β | The reason I chose Authentic Movements for my advancement? It’s all in the name! Authenticity and the ability to be a little “outside the box” of traditional yoga teaching and flow made this such a desirable choice. I’m so grateful to have found this community, and it has strengthened my teaching style that I thought no one else had. There was definitely a point before I found this training that left me wondering if I was even doing it right in terms of teaching. Am I too weird? Is this doing my students any good? Now I have that confidence and it absolutely tranlsates into my classes. |
How did the online training platform work for you?
Β | I chose this online platform due to the fact that I own a very busy (not yoga) business. I have been the owner of a very busy tattoo shop since 2007 and there was no way I was going to be able to complete or focus, even, on a traditional 300hr training and keep my business open. I was able to make my own hours for training. Fortunately, self-accountability is no problem for me, but I see how that would be an issue for some. I look forward to attending some in-person events with the AM community soon! |
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
Β | As I said above, my confidence level in my teaching style has increased. It feels like my classes make so much more sense and that the edges have “smoothed out” in my class flows. I feel like a much stronger teacher now (physically and mentally!). |
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
Β | Due to the global nature of training, I have not met any alums or students in person yet ,but the Instagram community is strong. It’s fun to see the alums I graduated with moving onto their next steps and we support each other through that. |
What was your favorite part of the course content?
Β | The parts I looked forward to were always the introspections. It took me out of the movement portions and allowed me to pause and remember why I was doing all of this in the first place. |
