AM V200 -NOV 2021
Escanaba, Michigan, USA 🌎
I wish to share yoga as a landing space to move the body and open the mind. Though my career/lifestyle at the Skerbeck Family Carnival takes me throughout Michigan half the year, I consider the U.P. my home. Boy mom of two with husband Jeff. Lover of travel, the outdoors, and of curiosity led learning. I received my 200hr YTT certification from Authentic Movements in November of 2021 and a bachelor’s of science in entrepreneurship from Northern Michigan University in December 2012. Take the time to move everyday. You’re worth it.
Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience
| Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT? | |
| It felt the most authentic, pun intended maybe? I followed Steph on social media because one of my teacher’s at our local studio had gone to a workshop. Over time I liked her style and started following the other lead teachers. Around the time the virtual class was first on the market I felt like it was my time to take the leap of faith and deepen my practice. | |
| How did the online training platform work for you? | |
| I 100% would not have been able to do any other style training and feasibly fit it into my lifestyle. the online training made it accessible to learn from anywhere. | |
| How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT? | |
| I was very uncomfortable with anything to do with anatomy. While this 200hr was simply a launching pad to dive deeper into learning more about it, I feel more confident in the why behind postures and modifications. | |
| How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training? | |
| Someday it would be great to have some kind of reunion with the virtual AM team! I utilize the FB group page as an outlet and have met people within that I have shared more direct contact with online or on the phone. | |
| What was your favorite part of the course content? | |
| I mean this isn’t an easy question… the entire thing? I have been coming back to the manual for scaffolding inspo, pranayama work, and posture refreshers. So continued access to the wealth of knowledge. I plan to use the anatomy section in my car as a sort of podcast to continue to go over any areas I want to refresh or find better understanding. | |
