Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience

Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
Β  I had been aware of Stevi through social media and purchased her handstand training books. I really appreciated her thorough approach to not just handstanding but teaching yoga in general and was inspired by her creative sequencing. Also, the idea that the body is resilient was refreshing considering lots of other trainings I had attended were pushing the idea that there is only one right way to do something and the body is fragile. I wanted to take a teacher training with Authentic Movements but I couldn’t travel to Costa Rica or North Carolina for any of their trainings. When the pandemic hit, the option for an online training became available. I jumped at the chance!
How did the online training platform work for you?
Β  The online format was ideal for me. I was able to take my time with each lecture and workshop, take notes, revisit lectures, and thoroughly process the wealth of information I was receiving. I felt supported every step of the way and the video feedback kept that connection active and personalized.
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
Β  I have become a stronger, more confident teacher. I am equipped with more knowledge on anatomy, dynamic movements, and how to creatively, logical sequence. I am better able to communicate my ideas knowing I have a strong foundation of knowledge to support me.
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
Β  I have engaged with the AM community through Bonus Live Classes, Facebook and Instagram.
What was your favorite part of the course content?
Β  My favorite part was really learning the ins and outs of sequencing. I also really enjoyed the workshops- they were super challenging but in all the best ways!
