AM V200 - FEB 2021
Waynesville, NC, USA π
I love connecting with others and expanding those connections to help lift sus all up! I also have so much fun and hope to collaborate with as many of you as possible! I enjoy teaching beginner and intermediate level vinyasa inspired flows that are strength based and cue for engagement, love drawing the mind and body connection. I hope that my movement practice is creative, fluid, dynamic, accessible and based on strength building. Specialize in providing space for people to explore self, both inside and out through movement. Creating confidence through fun exploration of postures, transition, breath and self. I love practicing outside! Combining 15 years of team building, leadership + sales with love of hiking, nature + movement. Barre, Vinyasa + Broga
Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience
Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
Β | I loved the fun yet serious nature of the teachers the diversity in their interests, expressions and they way they each explore the practice. The timing and platform fit my schedule, unpretentious and the fact that ya’ll have decided to call WNC home is important to me. I am looking for a global and local community and I had no clue what to expect and it was beyond measure! |
How did the online training platform work for you?
Β | Worked well except not being able to download and watch later. I live in the sticks and have data usage limits so I had to watch everything on my phone but other than that it was great. And lets be realistic, I got in on the “seed” round so I was actually expecting a lot more hiccups, snafus (SP) etc… I think ya’ll crushed it for the lead time you had and the effort you put in! I would have benefited from more connection with the lead teachers but I had 1:1 with Kim twice and she was really special and helpful for me embrassing and leaning in to my style and so I am truly grateful! |
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
Β | Well since I hadn’t taught before, I could go on and on about finding my voice, realizing engagment in my body in my own practice that after 15 years practicing I hadn’t tapped into…but I would say that my being has shifted. I am gentler, kinder, more patient, more accpeting and more open to others ideas and thoughts. That there is not the way but many ways to approach things has been in me in several areas of my life but not as many as it is now and I owe that to the AM family. |
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
Β | Yes, still on the FB page, and messaging with folks and practicing with a few still which is really fun. I would like to figure out how to help make the alum page more engaging but tbh i am also trying to limit facebook so theres that. I have new friends in Hawaii, California, New York, PA and Michigan! |
What was your favorite part of the course content?
Β | I loved posture labs and the creative sequencing flows those I continue to revisit over and over again to help grow my practice. I need to go back to the Niyama and Yamas as this was something I had not explored before and my brain could only hold so much. My goal is to go back and revisit anatomy too at some point and I am hoping we can get an extra year of access. Would love to join in future events, see ya’ll at the yoga barn or have you practice here at the farm. Many thanks and gratitude for all you have done to help me shape my practice, find confidence on and off the mat and give me a strong foundation for which I am now able to teach! |
