AM V200 - SEPT 2022

CDMX Mexico 🌎

I have always loved movement, and it has been a constant in my life since I was a kid, but when I started dancing competitively I fell into a ‘never good enough’ mindset, after a lot of thought and an injury that led to surgery I took a very hard descition: to quit dancing, but found yoga and fell in love instantly, it gave all the awareness and freedom dancing gave me without the need to compete, a couple of years later I took my fist training with Twameva yoga and started teaching as soon as I graduated, but then the pandemic hit and that’s el when I found that am was doing a virtual training and I decided to apply for a partial scholarship, and two years later here I am as an AM alumn with the desire to keep learning as much as I can so I can share it and hopefully he’ll others find the awareness, joy and freedom the practice has given me.

Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience

Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
I love a quote that says ‘quizá lo bello es moverse según su propia naturaleza’ i don’t know it in English but it says that there’s beauty in moving according to everyone’s own nature, and I feel that AM gets that, I never felt like I had to look a certain way or get into an specific shape to be considered a yoga practicioner/teacher, but it does feel like you celebrate individuality and creativity.
How did the online training platform work for you?
Great sometimes not so great others, but that because I’m not that good at organizing my time so that was an extra challenge for me, but what I loved is how I could take my time to digest all the information and also being able to come back to it if I needed to.
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
I feel more confident in incorporating different forms of movement even when they’re not traditional asana and I feel like I am able to explore movement and give the students the space to explore their bodies and what works best for them.
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
The AM community is si welcoming and warm and always willing to help with the course content, ti practice or even just ti chat.
What was your favorite part of the course content?
  The introspection practices
