LAUREN BLANTON
AM V200 - FEB 2023
Charleston, South Carolina
United States π
Hello from Charleston, SC! I have been practicing yoga for 10 years and work as a paralegal. I recently graduated from the Virtual 200hr Hatha/Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training through the Authentic Movements School and also completed the ‘Dancing with Self’ 18hr mini course.
When I’m not on my mat, the beach is my favorite place to be. Being a native of the Lowcountry, I’m pretty sure I have saltwater running through my veins and look forward to teaching yoga on the beach this summer! I crave sunshine and enjoy being outside as much as possible. My hobbies include photography, surfing, and all things music.

Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience
Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
Β | Creative flows and funky transitions light me up inside and make me feel so energized and renewed. I chose this school of movement because I just knew it would be fun and would also help me unlock my creative side with help from teachers I have admired in the yoga community for years. |
How did the online training platform work for you?
Β | Being employed full time I knew I wouldn’t be able to take a lot of time off from work to attend an in-person training, so I was ecstatic when the virtual training was available. The time frame and break down of lectures and classes were easily manageable & digestible. I was really able to go at my own pace and learn at a speed I felt comfortable with so I could get the most out of my first YTT. |
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
Β | I’ve connected with quite a few people through Instagram & Facebook. I was also able to attend a weekend workshop here in Charleston, SC with Erin & Anthony and met quite a few other AM Alum there too. I look forward to attending more in person & online events in the future! |
What was your favorite part of the course content?
Β | I really loved the anatomy lectures and asana labs, both of which have changed my personal practice for the better. I know they will greatly help my teaching. Learning what muscles to activate and the “why” behind the “what” is so huge! I think that gets lost a lot in a lot of classes and am excited to bring that knowledge into the room when I teach. |
