V200 - May 2021
Deer Park, WA π
Born and raised in the PNW, I am motivated to share my knowledge of health and wellness with my community. I have a wide range of teaching experience from a decade in gymnastics to school-age through college-age instruction. I possess certificates in personal training and group fitness through American Council on Exercise and may be a bit of a gym rat, Lol. When working on fitness goals, I tap into my Master of Arts in Planning from EWU. My undergrad is in geography and geology with an emphasis in environmental studies. I love creative sequencing and teaching others to be comfortable in their bodies no matter their abilities. My other hobbies include food security gardening, sustainable living, acrylic painting, and running a small animal rescue and sanctuary.
Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience
Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
Β | I fell in love with the creative movements that Steph and Erin shared on Instagram. I was fortunate to take in-person classes in Costa Rica where I decided that AM was the school I wanted to learn from. The opportunity for the training to be online made it all possible for me. |
How did the online training platform work for you?
Β | The online training was a great success for the other responsibilities I juggle in my life. It took a little longer than expected but I was able to absorb more information in that time than had it been a faster in-person training. |
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
Β | My direct cueing has greatly improved since completing the AM training. I also feel more comfortable creating unique movements for my own classes. AM has given me the confidence to grow my own practice. |
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
Β | I enjoy the friends on IG and Facebook that I have gained. We regularly comment on each other’s progress and breakthroughs. I support the 200 hr Facebook page answering questions and rooting for everyone’s Live classes. I look forward to seeing some alum in Costa Rica this February for the intensive. |
What was your favorite part of the course content?
Β | Anatomy and the challenging pose workshops were my favorite course content. I have taken several anatomy courses as part of me previous medical office training, personal training, and group exercise training. This course was the most in-depth and explanatory. I loved it! Also the workshops were amazing for growing my personal practice. Thank you for all the time and hard work put into this program. |
