Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience

Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
I have admired Erin Kelly and Steph Gongora’s practices from afar for quite some time. I never imagined that I would one day join their community, get to know them a bit more, and learn so much from them! Bonus, I also was introduced to other great teachers and voices! Bianca Scalise blew me away with her knowledge and skill just as well. Teacher training was something that I knew I wanted to do someday. I had tried and applied for a few other YTT’s prior, but the timing never quite lined up or the resources just weren’t there. I decided to make the time line up and work when I saw an opportunity for AM’s YTT. Once I committed, online training happened making it even more accessible for me. I was bummed that it wasn’t happening in person at first, but I can’t imagine packing the information that I absorbed, the practice, lectures etc. into one month. I got to take it all in at my own pace and digest it. They did a really good job of providing a sense of community as well, with an option to be more involved if you would like.
How did the online training platform work for you?
Great! The platform was pretty intuitive once I learned my way around. It was a very supportive platform with so much helpful information! The content was put together in such a thoughtful and intentional way.
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
I just started my journey as a teacher and that is something I wasn’t sure I would do. I think it has made me a more intentional and mindful practitioner and teacher. The knowledge I gained only made me more passionate about this practice. It feels like I am blossoming into the truest version of myself.
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
As an introvert, I can’t say I jumped in there as much as some. But I loved the group page and forums. Seeing other people’s post about their journeys’ motivated, inspired, and encouraged me on mine. I loved meeting other people in our live teaching sessions. Everyone is so unique and brilliant in their own way which is so cool to see. I still follow and interact on social media with a few people I connected with. We cheer each other on and celebrate each others victories. I hope to connect with more as our journeys’ continue to unfold.
What was your favorite part of the course content?
This is a difficult question to answer. As I flowed through the course, different parts impacted me more at different times. But for the sake of choosing…uhh, I can’t choose!
