There is so much to learn about Yoga Philosophy & History.  Through developing a more nuanced understanding of Yoga’s origins we can learn to more honestly and respectfully embody and share this practice with our communities.  Join Team Authentic Movements and a variety of guest lecturers for this comprehensive deep-dive into the very rich subject Yoga History and Philosophy.

We will travel back in time, reviewing a variety inter-connected schools of Yogic thought.

Throughout the course we will actively explore collective consciousness through a variety of meditation practices.

Dr. Dheepa Sundaram will guide us through the history of Yoga in India, Yogic Mythology, ancient practices.

There will be subtle reflection threaded through the program taking a deeper look into our own complex and nuanced human existence. 

The package itself contains over 25 hours of applied philosophy’s, movement sessions, lectures, and introspective practices, plus an additional 6+ hours of optional, but helpful pre-work to assist with getting everyone on the same page no matter your background in these concepts.

The 25HR PPhilosophy, History of Yoga & ZaZen Practices CET course is designed as either a stand alone offering for those looking to supplement their previous studies in philosophy OR as a required module in our HYBRID MODULAR 300HR (500 track), YogaAlliance.org registered program. It can benefit both teachers and avid practitioners alike, and the online format allows you to revisit all included content for a year from your purchase date.

The course is presented in a linear manner and includes a reference manual which can be downloaded and printed, if desired. The manual contains helpful graphics to follow along during lectures, class skeletons for movement sessions, additional information for those looking for further readings, and helpful homework sheets and suggestions.
