AM V300 - June2023
Louisville, KY | USA 🌎
A mama of 3 who started yoga at a local YMCA in upstate New York after becoming a mother. Yoga helped me re-discover myself and find a sense of peace on the mat. After moving home to Kentucky and trying out vinyasa studios I fell in love and knew one day I wanted to teach yoga! Started playing with handstands and found AM during 2020. I completed my 200hr training in 2022 in Louisville. Completed my 300hr training with Authentic Movements in 2023. I am also Yin trained. I enjoy teaching a wide variety from a strong vinyasa to the softer restorative and everything in between!
Reflecting on the AM YTT Experience
Why did you choose Authentic Movements for your YTT?
A friend and fellow yoga teacher looking to freshen up her education told me about AM when I started seeking out YTT. Their incredible inversions, creative flows and focus on activations in the body really drew me in. It was the best decision!!!
How did the online training platform work for you?
As a busy mother of 3 the online platform was really the only way I could complete a lengthy training as I cannot leave for extended periods of time. I really enjoyed pacing myself through the course, the ability to go back and review , Implementing lessons into my current classes, and really taking my time to absorb the information.
How has your teaching changed since completing the AM YTT?
I am so passionate about giving students building blocks towards “challenging” asanas. I enjoy seeing their small wins and progress over time. I also respect each students individual journey and discovery of their own practice.
How have you engaged with the AM community of alums and students during and after the training?
I have made so many friends and also found several “mentors” from past Alum. The community really does stay close even after graduation and I look forward to seeing some face to face in the future.
What was your favorite part of the course content?
I loved so much! But the philosophy, history was spectacular and one of my favorite portions. The incredible detail and breakdown of many intricate asanas/ sequences was really what stood out the most. My feedback was very personal and thorough.
